I Have Been A Bad Blogger and Tweeter
If you have visited my blog for the last few months, you will notice a lot of blog posts titled “What I did this week!”. The post contained “Updated my blog with What I did this week!” followed by a short URL.
This is not an uncommon method of updating your blog with you Twitter Tweets for the week.
I have had several people leave comments about my blank Twitter updates, and I appreciate your feedback. It’s good to know that people are coming here and at least trying to read my blog.
As you can see I have been a bad blogger. I have all but stopped updating this blog, even after setting a goal back in December related to Blogging Consistency and Blogging Relationships .
I have failed miserably at that.
I have also been a bad Tweeter. The reason my blog updates contained few Twitter updates is because I have been bad at tweeting consistently.
I know Twitter is hot right now, and I have a decent number of followers, I just haven’t seen the real value of Twittering. I have even seen a study lately that indicated most Twitters ignore most Tweets by those they follow.
So, to correct the error of my ways, I have finally turned off the automatic weekly Twitter update to my blog.
I will also be blogging more. They may be short blog posts, maybe just to say “hey, I’m still here”. I won’t say they will be daily, two a week, or even weekly, but my hope is to update at least weekly.
Mike

I go back and forth on the value of Twitter. I understand the usefulness of the real time search of what people are saying about a topic, but I don’t have to tweet myself to use the search function. I guess the next big thing should be here soon anyway! lol
I was suffering a lot due to economy stress and still going on with the same and it affected lots of thinks in my life
is there anything like which is not making you able to concentrate on blogging and twitter?
Regards,
Leif
I am also not really sure about the tweeter value.
I think it is mostly has a marketing value if you have a great amount of followers.
i also understand that twitter is very popular right now… you see lots of celebrity actors, athletes etc. there but i still don’t have an account because i don’t think it’s worth the time… hmmm i just don’t get it.. but i hope you continue blogging more often, i’ve read your past posts and i think they were great…
Twitter is great. Its still doing great so best to use it while its still doing great.. ^^ Every site getting up and all the site riding him go up too.
Yay to blogging! Frankly, it is much more enjoyable to read blog posts. I think twitter feeds might be good for google (who sees updated info) but it’s not easy to read for real people.
I think that’s one of the dangers of Twitter…who wants their life summed up in X number of characters?
i gust want to say some thing “great job”
Update your Twitter randomly according to your intrest Or, from Rss Feed Or, from your own tweet message list Or, Any combination of the above three http://feedmytwitter.com
I enjoyed reading your post. Internet marketing is growing very fast in the IT industry. Internet marketing is now becoming a part-time business for many individuals.
First off, nice post. I do believe that twitter can be a great tool for marketing if used properly however it does take some time to master the art of tweets in a timely manor.
Whether you just found the blog, or if you have been following since the beginning-it doesn’t matter! I am truly grateful to all of you and thank you …
Yeahh.. Sometime i get bored too, updating my blog or tweeter. It’s just an ordinary behavior.
As a recent twitter user I must say I find it extremely hard to find stuff to twit about. Not to mention I don´t know many irl people who use it so it´s hard for me to make meaningful connections.
Still not sure about the value of twitter marketing either. Maybe it works if one has a large number of followers. Not tweets I have seen are not original material.
I wouldn’t worry about being a bad blogger or tweep.
Look, when you’re blogging it’s easy to become a slave to the content generation machine. I think it’s important to balance quantity and quality. If only quantity was important, the creation of content would be off-shored.
Hi Mike, I know exactly how it feels not to update our blog and twitter account. Sometimes, we just wanted to take a break. Looks like you are already doing well. Well done!
Missing updating on twitter or the blog is not a criminal offense per se. If you have been busy finishing up real life projects, that pays the bills – nothing like it. However if the lack of updates is just due to laziness , thats a different story
I shift between twittering , facebooking , Linkedin-ing and soo on . Its a non ending process.
It is common and it happens to everyone. Luckily, you have some automated messages to make look like real to search engines and bots. Not many bloggers will do even that. I have been missing updating my tweets and blogs for months. Luckily, I able to explain to my readers and gain back my traffic.
A year ago, I was a bad blogger too. But now after practicing daily, I’m very good in that part
you see lots of celebrity actors, athletes etc. there but i still don’t have an account because i don’t think it’s worth the time
I Think Twitter is definitely going to be the best for social media marketing as this is somehting that will definitely going to be the best for those who are having thier online business.
Nice post. But, I do believe that twitter can be a great tool for marketing if used properly. I think it’s important to balance quantity and quality.
i think twitter is the best social media.it helps in link building and to increase traffic as well.
Mike, I think the problem is when you got more than one blog and put more effort to one blog then sometimes you can forget updating the other blog. Hope you can keep up with consistent blogging.
Blogging and twitting both are great right now to share your updates with your friends and communities. I tried many times to be continue on blogging and having update on twitter, but always failed. But yes if some is able to continue, please be regular, its good for marketing perspective.
It can be tough to stick it out and follow a consistent plan for blogging, but it really seems to pull together after a while when the traffic and rank starts building up. Then again, as far as Twitter goes, I pretty much agree with you. I follow like 20 people and I have a hard time keeping up with even half of what they’re posting. I just don’t see it as being half as social as everyone claims, its more like everyone has thousands of followers and people following, and no one is really paying attention to what’s being said.
I think it can be easy to fall of the blog wagon but as for twitter… I don’t think it’s going to be around for very long. I think it’s novelty is going to be very short lived.
Hi Mike,
I want to say that you have a good flair of writing and as it can be seen that you have got good experience of blogging. Try to blog for some different niche that can make you earn. I don’t know what’s going on with you, but still always there is a ray of hope. Keep up the hard work.
I think nowadays its very beneficial too as you are blogging and twitting. Both have great things for getting good friends and a very good community.
Don’t beat yourself up over it! You’re doing fine! Just stay on track. It only takes an entry a day.
Don’t beat yourself up over it! You’re doing fine! Just stay on track. It only takes an entry a day.
So I strongly recommend you not to get upset about it and just continue doing it and everything will come. You just need more time.
